Color me surprised… I actually didn’t know all of these! If you didn’t know… this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE film! I could perform the entire thing right now in my living room. I’ve seen it well over 100 times and could watch it many many more. I enjoyed these little nuggets of knowledge sent to me by a good friend and I thought… why not share. So enjoy.

I don’t usually do the promotion of other people on my social networking sites. I find that I am this way mostly because I don’t like being told to check something out, and I refuse to do that to those who support me. I much more enjoy the fortune of stumbling across an inspring video, site, person, photo, etc and feeling as though I discovered a buried treasure all on my own. I would never want to take that hunt away from you guys. However, I really do find this person inspiring and I feel it is only fair that I share his talents with my crowd of supporters, followers, interested listener… whoever you may be. I also realize that quite often my internet discoveries are not solo endeavors but more or less group collaborations thanks to things like tumblr, facebook, youtube, and even twitter. “A Not So Very Ordinary Girl”

This is actually a lyric from the song “Aubrey” by Bread. My dad sang that particular song to my mom on their first date… and according to my mother… she knew instantly that she would name her daughter Aubree (they changed the spelling to make me different). Not only is this my favorite line in a rather cheesy tune… but it also could not describe me more accurately. I am one weird cookie, and I like it. The tattoo is also in my parents handwriting, which means the most to me. They have molded me, taught me, supported me and are truly responsible for all the uniqueness I have today. “A Not So Very _____ Girl” is in my mom’s beautiful script, and “Ordinary” is in my dad’s all caps, oddly readable, chicken scratch (he writes like that ALL the time). The location was also a very calculated decision. I wanted it near my spine, because it does define me… or is the “backbone” of my personality, if you will. But I am an off person… and so I wanted it just a bit off center. So slightly to the right it went.

I feel a little uncomfortable sharing a picture of my semi-naked back on the internet… but I love love love this tattoo and all it means to me, and I felt I should share… so I am sucking it up, and trusting that no one gets the wrong idea about me.
